A staircase at my mom's
home needs to be modified, so she can easily use them. It seems they
are a little too steep.
Last year she fell at a business, had a break as a result,
then had a surgery at a
local
hospital, which , did not fix her leg perfectly. Later in the year,
she became ill from a complication. She recovered, but was
over-medicated and sent to physical therapy to get her strength back up
before she came home. So right now, she's still having a little trouble
with stairs, and she is stationed at that same facility. If we can make
that stairway less steep, she could do them fine, and could come home
to live.
I am on a mission to get the stairs worked on, so she can come back and live in her own house.
Recently I talked to an Amish builder, I. B., from Missouri. The following weekend he made it over (to Kansas) and gave an estimate of the staircase which needs modification. The estimate from him is a reasonable 300- 500.00, differing from the number of stairs he will be able to put in and a few other variables. I'm going to say that it will probably be closer to the later, (500). So that is my goal with
24 HRS of painting- to a fund to pay the expense of the renovation.
